Beryllium roots are users on the SoylentNews wiki who have root on Beryllium and have some additional abilities on the wiki itself, but are not members of the Wiki team.
The rights assigned to Beryllium roots include:
- The ability to lock and unlock the database. (Normally available to bureaucrats)
- The ability to modify the interwiki table. (Normally available to administrators)
- Are autoconfirmed regardless of number of edits or how long their account has been registered for.
- Can edit any page on the wiki, including fully protected pages and interface (MediaWiki: namespace) messages such as MediaWiki:Sidebar.
